A note from Dr. Michele.

For me, longevity is about preserving the capacity to live well: strength, energy, intention, and connection. I begin with the foundations that support that life—nourishment, movement, restorative sleep, and a closer understanding of your metabolic health.

This edit explores the nutrients, botanicals, and microbial formulations that interest me within that wider picture. Testing can help us ask more precise questions. A supplement earns its place when there is a clear reason for choosing it and a meaningful way to assess its role.

03 / Begin with the foundations

Build a life that supports the years ahead.

Keep strength in the picture

Make space for movement, strength, balance, and recovery suited to your ability. The goal is a routine that supports the activities you want to keep doing.

Nourish, rest, connect

Enough food and protein, varied plants, restorative sleep, and relationships belong at the center. A cellular supplement is a small part of this wider conversation.

Know your everyday measures

Review blood pressure, glucose, lipids, and relevant family history with your clinician. Follow changes over time and ask what action a new measurement would change.

Timeline Cellular Longevity PRO, Mitopure (Urolithin A) 1000mg

Timeline

Cellular Longevity PRO, Mitopure (Urolithin A) 1000mg

Why I chose it

The formulation. A urolithin A supplement branded Mitopure.

The physiology. Urolithin A is studied for mitophagy, a process that helps cells remove damaged mitochondria.

The human evidence. In a four-month trial in older adults, some muscle-endurance measures improved, but the main walking-distance and ATP-production outcomes did not significantly improve versus placebo. These findings do not establish longer lifespan.

Individual considerations. Review pregnancy, breastfeeding, significant illness and the full medication plan; long-term use across different patient populations is less well established than short trials.

Needed Creatine Powder

Needed

Creatine Powder

Why I chose it

The formulation. A creatine monohydrate powder.

The physiology. Creatine increases the muscle phosphocreatine pool, helping rapidly replenish ATP during short, demanding efforts; it is best considered alongside progressive strength work.

The human evidence. Human evidence for strength and training support is stronger than lifespan claims. A small six-week trial in perimenopausal women reported exploratory sleep-consistency and symptom findings with exercise; cognitive reaction-time changes did not differ between groups. This is not proof of cognitive rejuvenation or hormone balancing.

Individual considerations. Review kidney disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding and the full health history before use. Tell the clinician interpreting kidney blood tests that creatine is being taken; use the current product label rather than adding a generic loading protocol.

InfiniWell NMN - Healthy Aging Support

InfiniWell

NMN - Healthy Aging Support

Why I chose it

The formulation. A combination of nicotinamide mononucleotide, resveratrol and pterostilbene.

The physiology. NMN is a precursor in NAD metabolism, while the added polyphenols are studied for cell-signaling and antioxidant-related effects.

The human evidence. Small, short human NMN trials have assessed biomarkers and selected metabolic measures. They do not establish lifespan extension, dementia prevention or the outcomes of this exact three-ingredient blend.

Individual considerations. Review use during pregnancy or breastfeeding and with medicines or cancer treatment, where evidence is limited. It already contains resveratrol, so combining it with Reserveage or Mito-Gevity duplicates ingredients.

Organic India Gotu Kola

Organic India

Gotu Kola

Why I chose it

The formulation. An organic whole-herb Centella asiatica capsule.

The physiology. Gotu kola has a traditional Ayurvedic role in mental well-being; triterpene compounds are among the plant constituents studied biologically.

The human evidence. Human cognitive evidence is limited and does not establish prevention of dementia, improved lifespan or a replacement for assessing new memory problems.

Individual considerations. Review pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver history and sedating medicines. Check for duplication because Brain Cell Support also includes gotu kola.

Metabolic Maintenance Brain Cell Support™

Metabolic Maintenance

Brain Cell Support™

Why I chose it

The formulation. A blend of acetyl-L-carnitine, citicoline, DMAE, phosphatidylserine, ginkgo and gotu kola.

The physiology. These ingredients relate to cellular energy, membrane phospholipids or neurotransmitter pathways, which explains their inclusion in a cognitive-health formula.

The human evidence. Research on separate ingredients does not establish that this blend prevents dementia or improves cognition in every healthy adult. Ginkgo itself has not prevented dementia in large trials.

Individual considerations. Ginkgo requires review with anticoagulants and other medicines, and pregnancy use is inappropriate without specific clinical guidance. Review overlapping gotu kola and other cognitive formulas.

Ayush Herbs Carditone

Ayush Herbs

Carditone

Why I chose it

The formulation. An herbal-mineral formula with magnesium, coral calcium, rauwolfia, arjuna, shankhpushpi and other botanicals.

The physiology. Its constituents can influence vascular tone and blood pressure; this makes it a targeted clinical selection rather than a general longevity supplement.

The human evidence. A small six-month, single-arm safety study reported lower blood pressure but had no placebo comparison; 30% withdrew citing nonserious adverse effects. This does not establish prevention of heart attack, stroke or longer life.

Individual considerations. Use only with an individualized blood-pressure plan. Combining it with blood-pressure medicines can cause excessive lowering; the study included a withdrawal for reported hypotension during concomitant treatment. Monitor dizziness, fatigue and readings, review low pulse or mood history, and never stop prescribed medication to substitute this formula.

Allergy Research Group NAC/Enhanced Antioxidant Formula

Allergy Research Group

NAC/Enhanced Antioxidant Formula

Why I chose it

The formulation. A combination of NAC, trimethylglycine, RNA and alpha-lipoic acid.

The physiology. NAC supplies a glutathione precursor, trimethylglycine participates in methyl-group metabolism, and alpha-lipoic acid supports redox and energy pathways.

The human evidence. Biochemical plausibility does not establish rejuvenation, removal of unspecified toxins or longer lifespan from the complete blend.

Individual considerations. Review pregnancy, medications and total antioxidant intake. This is not plain NAC: it overlaps with stand-alone NAC and alpha-lipoic acid products and warrants additional review with glucose-lowering treatment.

Nordic Naturals ProOmega® 2000, Softgels, Lemon

Nordic Naturals

ProOmega® 2000, Softgels, Lemon

Why I chose it

The formulation. A concentrated fish oil supplying EPA and DHA in triglyceride form.

The physiology. These fatty acids are incorporated into membranes and participate in lipid signaling; higher therapeutic amounts can influence triglycerides under clinical care.

The human evidence. That does not establish that this supplement extends lifespan or prevents cardiovascular events in every user. Indication and baseline diet matter.

Individual considerations. Review fish allergy, anticoagulants, heart-rhythm history and overlapping fish oils. ProOmega 2000 and ProOmega 2000-D are different products; the latter includes vitamin D.

Pendulum Pendulum Akkermansia

Pendulum

Pendulum Akkermansia

Why I chose it

The formulation. A live Akkermansia muciniphila probiotic with chicory-derived inulin.

The physiology. Akkermansia interacts with the intestinal mucus environment, while inulin provides a fermentable substrate for gut microbes.

The human evidence. Human research is early and depends on strain, live versus pasteurized preparation and population. It does not establish this retail product as a weight-loss treatment, a GLP-1 drug substitute or a way to extend life.

Individual considerations. Inulin can cause gas or bloating. Live-microbe supplementation deserves clinician review in severe illness or immunocompromise; the product should not replace evaluation of persistent digestive symptoms.

Natura Health Products Mito-Gevity Mitochondrial Redox Support

Natura Health Products

Mito-Gevity Mitochondrial Redox Support

Why I chose it

The formulation. A multi-ingredient formula with ubiquinol, trans-resveratrol, R-lipoic acid, selenium, quercetin and botanicals including hawthorn, ginkgo and ginger.

The physiology. It combines a mitochondrial electron-transport cofactor with redox-active compounds and plant constituents.

The human evidence. Ingredient research does not demonstrate that this complete formula reverses aging, treats cardiovascular disease or increases human lifespan.

Individual considerations. Review anticoagulants, heart and blood-pressure medicines, and other supplements before use. It overlaps with CoQ10, resveratrol, alpha-lipoic acid, ginkgo and selenium selections; the black-pepper component also makes medication review important.

Reserveage Resveratrol 500mg

Reserveage

Resveratrol 500mg

Why I chose it

The formulation. A resveratrol-based polyphenol supplement; Reserveage currently markets more than one 500 mg formulation.

The physiology. Resveratrol is studied for cellular signaling, including pathways often discussed in aging research.

The human evidence. Laboratory and animal findings do not establish longer human life, and human studies cannot be generalized across all resveratrol doses and combinations.

Individual considerations. Review medicines, particularly anticoagulants, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and other polyphenol products. InfiniWell NMN and Mito-Gevity already contain resveratrol, so combining these is not automatically appropriate.

MUSCLE ENDURANCE & CELLULAR RENEWAL

Cellular Longevity PRO · Mitopure · Timeline

Urolithin A is a compound that some gut microbes produce from plant-derived ellagitannins. Mitopure supplies a defined urolithin A preparation directly. Its research centers on mitochondrial maintenance and muscle function as we age.

A human trial reported improvements in specific muscle-endurance measures, which makes this an interesting addition to the conversation about maintaining capacity. Strength training, adequate protein, and regular movement remain the daily foundation.

A four-month trial in 66 older adults found improvements in selected muscle-endurance measures with urolithin A. The primary outcomes—six-minute walking distance and maximal muscle ATP production—did not significantly improve versus placebo. The study was not a test of human lifespan.

A PRECURSOR IN THE NAD+ PATHWAY

NMN · InfiniWell

Nicotinamide mononucleotide, or NMN, is a building block used to make NAD+, a coenzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism. That role has prompted studies of how NMN affects metabolic function in humans.

InfiniWell pairs NMN with the plant compounds resveratrol and pterostilbene. I distinguish the function of the nutrient pathway from the effects of a finished blend, and look at the full formula when considering how it fits.

Nicotinamide mononucleotide is a precursor used in NAD+ metabolism. InfiniWell’s formula also contains resveratrol and pterostilbene. A small human NMN trial reported a change in muscle insulin sensitivity in a particular study population; it did not test this complete formula or establish a longer life. Long-term benefits and safety remain unsettled.

TWO DIFFERENT ROUTES INTO THE LONGEVITY CONVERSATION

Mito-Gevity & botanical selections

Cellular-health formulas and traditional botanicals ask different questions. My collection includes Mito-Gevity alongside botanical choices such as gotu kola, Centella asiatica, a plant with a long place in traditions of vitality and clarity.

With a multi-ingredient formula, I begin with the complete current label. With a plant, I begin with its identity, part, and extract. That attention helps make each selection purposeful and makes overlapping ingredients easier to recognize.

My collection also includes Mito-Gevity and botanical choices such as Gotu Kola. Read each current ingredient list before combining products. Gotu kola, Centella asiatica, has a long traditional history, but preliminary research does not establish dementia prevention or universal cognitive benefit.

A RESIDENT OF THE GUT ECOSYSTEM

Pendulum Akkermansia

Akkermansia muciniphila is a bacterium associated with the mucus layer of the gut. Its relationship with the intestinal environment and metabolic health has made it a lively area of research. This product combines a live strain with inulin, a fermentable fiber.

I place this within the larger story of a well-fed microbial community: varied plant foods, digestive comfort, and the individual situation. The organism’s strain and whether it is live or pasteurized matter when reading a study.

This formula contains a live strain of Akkermansia muciniphila with inulin. Research on a different strain or a pasteurized preparation does not automatically apply to this live product. Keep dietary plant diversity and the wider digestive picture in view; medically vulnerable people should discuss probiotic use with their clinician.

Quest Diagnostics

Functional Health Panel (Female)

What it measures
A broad set of 55 reported biomarkers selected for an assessment of female health; review the current analyte list to avoid duplicate orders.
Why it is here · When it may be useful
A wider baseline is clinically justified after reviewing existing results and the risk of unnecessary overlapping tests.
What ordering involves
Blood draw; the listing specifies plasma, serum, and whole blood. The current storefront marks this test as requiring fasting. Follow the exact order instructions for duration and other preparation; discuss medication timing with the ordering clinician.
Keep in mind
This Quest panel overlaps with individual tests. Review the exact 55-marker list and existing results before ordering; a broad panel can produce incidental findings.

Oral Microbiome Profile

What it measures
Selected oral organisms and oral pH using a targeted quantitative PCR profile.
Why it is here · When it may be useful
A dental or medical clinician considers a targeted microbial profile useful alongside oral examination and daily oral-care history.
What ordering involves
Oral specimen using the supplied kit; the storefront lists saliva. Confirm the kit method before collection. The storefront lists saliva, while manufacturer instructions describe an oral collection kit. Confirm and follow the supplied kit method and restrictions on recent eating, drinking, and oral products.

Urinalysis w/ Reflex to Culture

What it measures
Urine chemistry and microscopic findings, with culture performed only when the laboratory reflex criteria are met.
Why it is here · When it may be useful
Current urinary symptoms require evaluation for infection or another urinary problem.
What ordering involves
Urine collected according to the laboratory instructions. Obtain during symptoms when evaluation is needed. Collect before antimicrobial treatment when feasible, without delaying necessary assessment or treatment.

Do I need everything in The Longevity Edit?

No. These are individual options, not a universal protocol. Review overlapping ingredients and choose only what fits your history and care.

Where do the foundations fit?

They come first. Nourishment, sleep, movement, and relevant daily or environmental factors help determine whether a supplement or test has a useful role.

Can I read the collection without a Fullscript account?

Yes. The educational guide is open to everyone. Fullscript manages current labels, availability, account requirements, and purchases separately.

Research & references

Individual preparation references appear with each selection. Traditional uses and laboratory findings are distinguished from human clinical evidence. These educational collections do not establish a physician–patient relationship. Purchases through the Fullscript links may financially support my practice.

Review overlapping ingredients and medicines before combining longevity formulas. Research is evolving, and more products do not necessarily mean more benefit. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, cancer treatment, significant illness, or new cognitive symptoms call for individual medical advice.
