The philosophy
There is more to wellness
than what we can measure.
We can study her hormones, map her genetics, explore her microbiome, and understand the intricate biology of her body. And the science matters. Deeply.
But understanding her biology is only the beginning of understanding the woman…
She is also the life she has lived. The love she has known, the losses she has carried, the wisdom she has gathered, and the many versions of herself she has yet to become.

The feminine · Private clinical care
The body speaks.
The symptoms and conditions that bring you here.
The life behind them. The woman within it all.

For the woman you are.
And the woman you’re becoming.
01Hormones & transitions
Cycle changes, perimenopause, and the shifts in how you feel from one season of life to the next. Your symptoms, history, and priorities help guide an individualized evaluation.
02Mood, sleep & vitality
When sleep, energy, or interest in daily life changes, there is a story worth understanding. We consider your health history, daily rhythms, medications, and the broader context of your symptoms.
03Digestion & nourishment
Digestive symptoms and nutrition belong within the whole picture of your health. We can explore symptom patterns, food tolerance, prior results, and whether further evaluation would be useful.
04The body after loss
A dedicated part of my practice explores the physical experiences that may accompany grief. Explore grief medicine to learn more about this approach.

The medicine
Ancient wisdom.
Modern science.
Thoughtfully together.
I practice through the therapeutic order: understanding what is getting in the way of health, supporting the foundations, and choosing targeted treatment when it is needed. Botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, and conventional therapies each have a place in that conversation.
Beneath the surface
I choose testing to answer a specific question: what might be contributing to your symptoms, and how would the result change our plan?

Behind the medicine
There is
a woman.
A physician. A mother. A widow.
A life that informs the medicine.
I’m Dr. Michele Burklund, a licensed naturopathic primary care physician trained at Bastyr University, with more than a decade in clinical practice.
My education taught me to investigate. Caring for my father taught me to advocate. Widowhood, reinvention, and motherhood deepened my understanding of what it means to care for a whole person.
Those experiences inform how I listen, the questions I ask, and the space I make for your story. Here, I focus on women’s health, functional medicine, and grief medicine. I do not offer ongoing general primary care through this practice.

Open the Apothecary collections, choose the edit that interests you, and follow its Fullscript button. You can review individual products, ingredients, directions, and current prices before placing an order in Fullscript.

A purchase through the lab storefront does not book care with me. Review exactly what the provider includes in its listing, and arrange clinical interpretation separately when needed. You can inquire about individual care before deciding on a test.
